Local Enough?

Terms of use

In short: Local Enough? is a free educational and entertainment service. It compares knowledge, never people. The numbers describe only the rounds played here – not a population and not any individual person or group.

This is a translation for your information. Only the German version is legally binding.

1. Provider and scope

“Local Enough?” (getlocalenough.com, localenough.org and localenough.eu) is provided by Softure UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Scharfenberger Str. 28, 13505 Berlin, Germany (see legal notice). These terms apply to any use of the service. By starting a round you agree to them.

2. What Local Enough? is – and what it is not

  • A quiz about a country’s state and history, everyday life and culture. People who grew up there and people who moved there later answer the same questions. The aim is to question prejudice with knowledge and to learn from each other.
  • Not an official test. We are not affiliated with any citizenship, immigration or other authority. A result has no legal meaning and says nothing about residence rights, nationality, integration or the worth of any person.
  • No legal, administrative or study advice. For binding information, contact the competent authorities.
  • Politically neutral. We do not promote any party, do not ask for political opinions and take no position on elections.

3. How to read the statistics

  • Self-reported: whether someone “grew up here” or “moved here” is stated voluntarily by each person and not verified. We do not ask about ethnic origin, religion, skin colour or nationality.
  • Not representative: people choose to play. The numbers are therefore not a scientific survey and allow no conclusions about a country’s population, about immigrants as a whole or about people of any particular origin.
  • Group values only: we only show averages. A group appears once at least 5 people took part. Rounds that were too fast or abandoned do not count.
  • A snapshot: values change with every round and depend on the randomly drawn questions. Differences between the groups are often small and can reverse at any time.
  • Quoting: anyone using numbers from Local Enough? must state the date, the source and this note. Presenting them as a representative study or as a statement about a population group is not permitted.

4. Question content

Questions are written with the help of AI, checked by a second, independent review step and filtered by fixed rules (no clichés about groups, no religion as identity, no partisan judgements, no banned symbols or slogans). Despite all care, questions may be wrong or outdated. We give no warranty that they are correct, complete or current. Use “Report question” to point out mistakes; we review reported questions and correct or remove them.

5. Fair use

In particular, you may not:

  • distort results or statistics, e.g. through automated rounds, scripts, mass participation or deliberately false group information,
  • read the service automatically (scraping) or bypass its protections,
  • exploit security vulnerabilities instead of reporting them to us,
  • use the service or its content to demean people because of their origin.

We may remove rounds, nicknames and information that break these rules from leaderboards and statistics without notice, and limit access.

6. Reporting illegal content and point of contact

Notices of illegal content (Art. 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the “Digital Services Act”) and any other request can be sent to [email protected]. This address is also our single point of contact for authorities and users (Art. 11 and 12 DSA); you can write to us in German or English. Please name the page or question concerned and briefly explain why the content is illegal. We review every notice promptly, carefully and objectively and inform you of our decision.

7. Rights to content

Texts, questions, explanations, graphics and the design of Local Enough? are protected by copyright. You may share screenshots of your own results and quote individual numbers with the source (see section 3). Any further reproduction, in particular of the question pool, requires our consent.

8. Availability

The service is free of charge. There is no right to availability, to particular features or to the retention of results. We may change, limit or discontinue the service at any time.

9. Liability

As the service is free of charge, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence. This does not affect liability for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act or for fraudulently concealed defects. Operators of external sites we link to are solely responsible for their content.

10. Changes and final provisions

We may change these terms with effect for the future; the version published when a round starts applies. German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence remain unaffected. If any provision is invalid, the others remain valid.
