Everyday life

You pay for groceries with a debit card. Where does the money come from?

  • ✓ Directly from your own bank account, usually checking
  • B From a loan you repay later with interest
  • ✕ From a monthly bill sent by the store Your answer
  • D From your Social Security payments

Not quite.

A debit card is linked to your bank account and takes the money out right away. A credit card, by contrast, borrows money that you repay later.
