Culture & life

Många svenskar "dansar ut julen" och slänger granen. Vilken dag firas detta traditionellt?

Translation: Many Swedes "dance out Christmas" and throw out the tree. On which day is this traditionally done?

  • A 6 januari 6 January
  • ✓ 13 januari 13 January Your answer
  • C 20 januari 20 January
  • D 2 februari 2 February

Correct!

Den 13 januari kallas tjugondag Knut, och då är julen officiellt slut. Namnet kommer från att julen förr varade i tjugo dagar efter jul, och många håller fortfarande julgransplundring.

13 January is called Tjugondag Knut (Saint Knut's Day), and Christmas is then officially over. The name comes from Christmas once lasting twenty days after Christmas Day, and many people still hold a tree-dismantling party.
