Culture & life

Ireland holds a record in the Eurovision Song Contest, shared with Sweden. How many times has Ireland won?

  • A 3 times
  • B 5 times
  • ✕ 9 times Your answer
  • ✓ 7 times

Not quite.

Ireland won seven times: 1970, 1980, 1987, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1996. Sweden equalled this record in 2023, and Irish people often joke about the 'curse' of winning too often.
