You have old Royal Mail stamps marked '1st' with no price printed on them. The price of a first class stamp has since gone up. What is true?
Käännös: Sinulla on vanhoja Royal Mailin postimerkkejä, joissa lukee ”1st” ilman hintaa. Ykkösluokan postimerkin hinta on sittemmin noussut. Mikä pitää paikkansa?
-
✕ They are only valid if you add a 10p stamp Ne ovat voimassa vain, jos lisäät 10 pennin postimerkin Vastauksesi
-
B They expired at the end of the year they were bought Ne vanhenivat ostovuoden lopussa
-
✓ They are still valid for first class post at today's rate Ne kelpaavat yhä ykkösluokan postiin nykyhinnalla
-
D They can only be used for letters inside your own town Niitä voi käyttää vain oman kaupungin sisäisiin kirjeisiin
Ei ihan.
Stamps showing '1st' or '2nd' instead of a price are 'non-value indicator' stamps, so they stay valid at the current rate even after prices rise. Note that older everyday stamps without a barcode had to be swapped for barcoded ones from 2023.
