Culture & life

The "Keep Calm and Carry On" slogan became a huge meme and souvenir print. Where does it come from?

  • A A 1960s TV comedy series
  • ✓ A British government poster from 1939
  • C A song by a 1990s pop band
  • ✕ The 2012 London Olympics campaign Your answer

Not quite.

The Ministry of Information designed the poster in 1939 in case of war, but it was hardly ever displayed. A bookshop in Alnwick rediscovered a copy around 2000, and it later became a worldwide meme.
