Andreas Hofer stammte aus dem Passeiertal und wurde 1810 in Mantua hingerichtet. Er ist in Tirol bis heute eine wichtige Erinnerungsfigur, etwa im Lied „Zu Mantua in Banden“, der Tiroler Landeshymne.
Andreas Hofer came from the Passeier valley and was executed in Mantua in 1810. He remains an important figure of remembrance in Tyrol, for example in the song "Zu Mantua in Banden", the Tyrolean state anthem.
